Gods do not dwell here; they never have. There is no such thing, no matter the tales or inscriptions upon cavern walls that might tell to their existence. Prontera is solely a place of magic, as the planet Atlas has always been, its immortal life sewn into the fabric of a universe unknown to anyone outside its hold. Here is where our story begins. Atlas is a conscious planet, all knowing and much more than alive. It is what keeps us here, what feeds us and allows us to grow. It is our home, and it is our sustenance, our source of not only magic but also both life and death. Atlas decides who is to see another day, and who is to perish. For now, it is peaceful. We live our days as we see fit. Some of our kind worship Atlas, while others only half-heartedly believe that the planet is truly a living, breathing entity. With clouds to accompany the sun and stars to accompany the moon in their proper cycles, our lives have never been anything but blissful and prosperous. Our seasons come and go, even if there are only the two we know as Seedtide and Frostyre. We have known no war, no malice, no harm. For centuries, there has only ever been peace, and our kind have coexisted among each other. But a foreboding threat lingers on the horizon, something that leaves the air stained with tension.
